Lets talk turkey

With the invasion of more and more firearms from the land of turkeys, well no turkeys in the land what have any owners of any firearm from that country have to say? Not what the internet ninjas and worriers say, but what owners and any that have shot some say! Reading about specs of shotguns (regardless of what action type), pistols (revolvers & semis) and all rifles that some seem decent. Most if not, all are clones of proven platforms and manufacturers from reputable companies foreign and domestic. All I can Invision is sweatshop labor environment with crude tools. Probably narrow mindedness on my part, but curious about how they machine parts and tolerances are declared?

This is supposedly the top 10 shotguns manufacturers there

My google-fu wasn't strong enough to get a list of handgun mfgs.

Im sure there is a strong global market for them, including the US.

You know my stance. 😁

I’ve never personally seen a Turkish shotgun that wasn’t a POS.

I’ve seen “some” firearms from there that appeared to be decent, also seen a number (esp “tacticool” looking) scatterguns that were junk. I’m not a fan. Seems to me though that some current Winchester scatterguns come from there.

I’ve got several Turkish guns - 2 MKE AP5s, an Canik MC9 and a Tisas Duty BR9 1911 - and they are all very good. I don’t regret buying any of them.

I recently spent time in Turkey courtesy of their military/industrial complex and I can assure everyone that no sweat shops were involved. Turkey has an extremely advanced manufacturing base. I did however spend time with a pleasant woman tucked into a tiny space in a carpet shop making $50,000 silk carpets on a hand loom. I’m pretty sure she was appropriately compensated.

I own several Turkish firearms along with my Stoeger M3500 Shotgun. Although Stoeger is under the Beretta family umbrella, I believe they are made in Turkey. First time out I ran the whole Sporting Clays course with no issues straight out of the box (after cleaning all the grease it was packed with). I own two Sarsilmaz (SAR USA) firearms (a B6 hammer fire bought as a truck gun, and a K12 Sport all metal). I also have 2 Caniks (a TP9 Elite Combat and SFx Mete). I have on order with the LGS the Canik SFx Rival-S which is their all metal gun and I may be interested in the TTI Canik Combat shown at this years Shot Show. I really like the triggers on the Caniks right out of the box and I've had no issues with any of these Turkish firearms.
