You will probably be ok to get through the CoF with the shield but I’d just run the full size. And send it to S&W for a look see.

I run LEOSA quals in my state and LEOSA itself has no specifications that it’s required. so one gun satisfies it revolver, auto it doesn’t matter qualify on one your good on anything. However some places charge and want you to fire both types that is a scam and is not required.

We don't need to qualify with our carry guns either I carry a Hellcat Pro I qualified with a Staccato. Shooting that gun is like using a cheat code in a video game why add stress to myself. Didn't get me wrong I can qualify with the HCP but the Staccato makes me feel like John Wick

I used the full size 9 and had no issues. Made 49/50, so i passed my first qualification. I do need a better holster for that gun though.

I've always used a larger, heavier gun for my CCW qualifications. You'll usually shoot better with them.
Mine is a cheap 17 round Ruger SR9e. It's just a good shooting gun that's accurate.
