You cant beat that they are sending you out a new mag check the feed lips on the mag for bends in the photo on the right the feed lips look bent outwards on the ends.Out shooting today and had this happen. I only have 200 rounds through the gun, which was brought new last month. This is the second time this has happened. So, I tried my mag in the wife's gun, and had this weird double feed (wife's gun has the custom grips). In both instances the slide was locked back and I had to drop the mag to get the slide to move. Anyone have any thoughts? I did call SA and they are sending me a new mag.

I did not even think to do that!!Did you use the mag out of your wife's? If hers works there is a very good chance it is the mag.

I had read something like that also. My wife isnt having issues with her mags, so I am guessing mine is just a fluke.I read somewhere that recent designs of magazines have contributed to feeding issues on 1911s. The author stated that original magazine designs had a larger opening with flared feed lips. That's what I remember.
