Making Smith & Wesson Revolvers

Let me just say I have a SA 1911 range officer and an EMP4. Both shoot really nicely and when the temps are down I carry the EMP. Love them both too much, ammo has been killing my play money for more then a year. When its warmer I usually go to my S&W ez shield. I bought it for my wife but I have managed to hold on to it for a while now. 😂

I personally can vouch for S&W quality issues on there revolvers, bought a 629 several years ago, canted barrel, sent it back to S&W, got it back, still canted, sent it back the second time, finally got it corrected, my model 66, the reissue of it with the two piece barrel, ball/ detent crane lock up, after just 1 box of ammo it went out of time, didn’t send this back, my gunsmith who used to be a S&W warranty repair station fixed it and smoothed up the trigger for just $40.00, money well spent, so, yea, they have quality control issues, now my two current revolvers 625JM and my 610 seem fine so far. So what I have said did happen to me and wasn’t internet jibber jabber, it’s the truth.
I agree, money well spent. You didn't have to ship it off anywhere, you handed it to your gunsmith, and for the very low price of $40, you got it done right. Exact same thing happened with my Ruger - local gunsmith fixed the safety for $35 - I didn't have to ship it off. Who knows if Ruger would have even figured out what I was talking about? Earlier I shipped my Rock Island Armory 38 revolver to them, and when I got it back, I couldn't tell if they did anything or not. Beretta told me it could take 8 weeks to get my PX4 Storm back from them (failures to feed). I fixed it myself by using Wilson Combat grease on the slide instead of oil, and by replacing the stupid plastic guide rod with a stainless steel one.

The Ruger and the Beretta are now excellent guns. Not so sure about the RIA!
