A masked, hooded man tried to steal a gun from a gun store in Livermore, California, on Sunday — and did so while armed with a hammer, police said.

As you might imagine, the gun store owner had a much deadlier weapon at his disposal and fatally shot the would-be robber, police said.

The jewerly case smashers usually hit the store personel with pepper spray before they break out the hammers. I guess this guy didn't get the memo. I wonder if the shop owner is concerned that one of the customers will bring a law suit?

It happened at one of favorite gun shops a couple of years ago in AZ. Lowlife asked to look at a pistol and clerk turned to help another customer. Lowlife took off for the door. There were 2 or 3 customers in the store, all armed along with the clerk, needless to say he didn't get out the door with the pistol.
