Mauser action?

A little update on my Sear Mod 53 .308 I found on the Numrick website. I guess mine is post 1964.

"The .308 post 64 short action is a push feed. If it were pre 64 it would be a controlled feed like the Mauser actions. I don't have the Sears DOM but any of the post 64 Winchester M-70's that match your hole centers should work."

Mausers , Springfield 1903 was based on it.

The 1903 Springfield had some features that were present in the Mauser bolt action, but was not based on it.

I have a pre and post mod70, so I should have good reference on control feed.

Well, perhaps not but it was close enough there was a lawsuit.

I don't know if post mod70 also went to a push feed, I just know the Sears mod53 did.

I just don't believe that after say, the Spanish American War the army did not hold up a Mauser and say, we want this, or a close as we can get.
