Yes, Why mess with an AA DI upper that shoots well.

PSA has really nice uppers with FN barrels in their Premium line, and nice lowers for a really good price, especially now.


IMO get a nice PSA Premium upper, and a complete lower. If you want to keep the DI AA barreled upper then put it on the PSA complete lower and you have another AR pretty cheap for the wife.

$159.99 with free shipping


Then do your conversion on this FN barreled upper ($439.99) (mid-length gas system = best with a 16" barrel) with the AA piston conversion kit, and put it on your AA lower.


Then you have a pseudo-HK416 mil-spec CHF 2X chrome-lined barreled piston set-up.

For $600 you could have two ARs plus your AA kit cost & a charging handle.

But as always it's your decision & $$.

Which ever way you go you'll have to take your muzzle device off to remove the DI gas block and install the AA piston gas block.

The neat thing is you can show her the AA upper now & tell her that's going on her new toy so it's a form of recycling to save the Planet. :sneaky:

She'll be able to hold the Zombies off while you're reloading your shottys.

I offered to build her one. She has no interest. Every time I buy another shotgun her eyes roll so far back in her head she can see her brain.

Besides, in a zombie apocalypse I probably won't need to reload my shotguns. The KSG holds 25 ( 41 shorties) and the TS-12 holds 17 if I ghost load.

Well even ARs run dry so then she can use her blades.

The Mexican drug gang members like to get in close with their blades to gut their target.

In a self-defense scenerio, I won't let those types get too close.
