Does it depend on geographic location upon enlistment (e.g., east/west of the Mississippi)?

Grandfather in the Air Force, cousin that was in the Navy and was a Navy SEAL. Younger cousin joined the Marines. I went with the Army, Fort Benning, 2002.

The recruiter was in Texas and the office was 100 miles from me in the same state I lived. Ma_be that's why Pendleton?

I was from Alabama and went to Nashville Tenn. to take my physical, everybody there that day went to MCRD Parris Island except two of us we went to MCRD San Diego Calif. Jan.1968.

Did 4 years in the Army, 84-88. Infantry, Basic and AIT at Ft Benning Georgia. Harmony Church. A couple of years after I got out of the Army, I joined the Marine Corps, 4 years in the Infantry. MCRD San Diego, School of Infantry (SOI), Camp Pendleton, CA.
