Milling 1911 Garrison slide

Alpha
I have the fever for a 4.25" Garrison and want to mill the slide for an optic. My 78 year old eyes do much better with an optical sight.

Any experiences with companies out there that do 1911 slides?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes...I did a search and nothing came up under "Milling a 1911 slide."

Well, for one thing you will void your warranty, and with some issues this gun has had, do you want to take a chance, have you thought of just getting a better set of sights?

I've had three M&P slides milled by atei.com. They also do 1911's. I have 3 1911's would never have them milled.

I would recommend looking at one of the Tisas 1911s that come optic ready. You’ll avoid someone goobering up your Garrison slide. EAA has a couple of nice looking optic ready 1911s as well the Tisas and EAA are good value and a good way to find whether a 1911 with an optic is for you. BTW, it is. I prefer optics because of my eyes too.

No, you will not entirely void your warranty; only the parts modified will not be covered, if it was the modification that causes the issues for it to be sent in for repair.

Eg, if you mill your slide for an optic, and something happens to the (unmodified) barrel…it will be covered.
