More USPS Excellence.

No you can’t pin the dumpster fire Memphis has become on Trump. I had problems with my mail back when Barry was president.
Memphians have done it to them selves long ago via the ballot box.
Throwing more money at the USPS will not fix the problems.
at one time, the USPS had a long waiting list, to just take the entrance/qualification test.

you had to wait nearly a year for it to happen...i know, i had applied 3 times.

each time, points were awarded to Vets, Peace Corps Volunteers, to name those that got "credit points"...

no chance in hell for an ordinary person to get in...(and i had taken a "general business classes" in H.S, learning filing, by name, address, etc, what the postals service questions you on)

now, they hire off the streets, and end up with illiterate doobies, that can't deliver to the right address, or dump the mail down the sewers.

and we pay for that illiteracy, in stamps, and packages.

Let’s see. Memphis, Atlanta, St. Louis, Baltimore, yada, yada. All their main Post Offices are ridiculously incompetent. Strange. 🤔

We get UPS deliveries between 8 and 9 PM. Mail comes whenever but usually before 6pm. We used to get it by 930 Am. Fedex gets it here in early afternoon. Delivery services have gone down the crapper when the prices went up.

My younger son recently went to work for USPS as a mail carrier. The entire hiring process was done on-line. He never met a human being until his first day of training. Being the new guy he's supposed to just fill in for whoever isn't there that day. They only promise two days a week.
He very nearly quit about a week ago. They're working him 12-14 hours a day 6 days a week. He had to have a serious "talk" with his supervisor. I still don't know if he'll stay or not.

As for my package, I stopped by my local PO today and spoke with a supervisor. My package isn't lost, they know exactly where it is. So there's nothing that can be done. I asked if it could be flagged or something to get it special attention. Nope. It seems that I'm just at the mercy of the system.

Yes, IMO, all delivery companies have shown serious digression of late. We're fortunate, however, to have USPS route personnel who are good as gold.

My son tells me that when he works on Sundays, the vast majority of his load is Amazon packages.
That seems to be the thing now. UPS, Fed Ex, etc get a package to the right city and then turn it over to USPS to actually deliver. I've had several packages delivered like that over the last few years.

Around here Amazon delivers their own packages. And about 10000 times faster than the post office. I ordered a Simpson badger shave brush for my buddy for Christmas. I ordered it Sunday night. It came from Indiana and is currently in a giant warehouse less than 1/4 mile from where I am on the parking lot of my work right now, and will be delivered today.

Walmart and Sam’s do when you buy Walmart Plus.
Usually same day.

I'm working on trying to be more positive (I've been told it would be a good thing), so here are three valuable things the U.S. Post Office has taught me:

1) Nothing is certain in this world

2) You have to have hope

3) Don't be attached to things
I wish I shared your optimism.

My package made a quick bounce in Memphis and now seems to be taking another extended break in Atlanta. Last time it was there for 8 days. :poop:
That’s nuts. My package is still in Fresno California.
Have many more smash and grabs or looting of Fed Ex trucks happened there lately?
I ask out of curiosity, we are traveling there for Christmas. The in laws don’t like to talk about the crime there. They would prefer just to carry on like an ostrich.

i am sad
our firearm friendly postal lady we had for a few months has been re-assigned because the other lady got better and came back to work and its her route and seniority blah blah ..
i called and asked for the other lady to return, she smiled and actually was making improvements on our route, i even saw her on sundays delivering amazon.. plus she likes pistols

As I do live in Texas and placed and order from a town (Houston) in the same state (600 miles NNW) arrived at the regional distribution center (Amarillo, 100 miles from me) then proceeded 1,200 miles west (LA) and sat there 7 days before making it way back. UPS and FedEx any better! Several packages state "delivered ", but not at my residence? The last time I ordered from the same place there was skepticism on when it was to be delivered (2 day express). I'm not sure if it's any worse than it was 50 years ago or just being able to track unlike before of not knowing where it is/was? Sometimes the www is our friend?
Use pony express

me as well.

we have a large amazon d.c. center in mass, and one about to open in my state. we also have several amazon local hubs as well...but yet, there are times when a package is started out shipped from fedex, or ups, then turned over to the postal twits for final delivery...seems to me, that the packages should just go to a dc center, the be finalized by amazon.

but truth be told, it is not just amazon, it can be from any other online vendor i buy from, and it has like, Brownell's, MidwayUSA, Mid South Shooters Supply, Green Mountain, even Natchez..........it may have to do with the overall bulk that fedex and ups get daily, to turn them over to the postal twits.

USPS Innovations. I will never knowingly use them again.

CBS actually had a news piece on the USPS the other night showing how their technology upgrades are improving the delivery experience.
They had a guy talking about his role as sorting process innovation director and how their delivery is around 97%
It was very scary……. I was eating dinner…
And I laughed so hard I almost choked to death on my burger.

I must be lucky, at least in this since not in anything else, except my wife.

In my memory, I have never had USPS lose a package or have an undue extended wait. Even around this time of year I do not remember anything being exceedingly late.

I would give them good marks by my own experience and honestly have to say so.
