Just learned tonight there has been a case of the virus 2 counties South of mine and 2 cases just West of of the first county.
I just read today, that a COVID-19 case in the county just south of mine, has just passed away (see article below about members of his family contracting and succumbing to it as well). He lived in the town where I just did my grocery shopping yesterday (I live on the county line and am closest to that town's store). In addition, I found that my county has multiple cases confirmed. Good times :(

Here's some interesting data....

Great article and my thoughts exactly. I've said on other threads, the mortality rate won't be known until all test data world wide is gathered and compiled. And even then, it won't included those that never got tested but had the virus and recovered with mild symptoms, that would lower the rate even further.

Hope everything is going to be ok. I will say a prayer for you. I do believe in God, but I don't go to church.

Fresh numbers from the CDC (updated 3/25). COVID numbers are GLOBAL; Flu numbers are USA ONLY.

I still don't understand the hype, and the terror, and the panic-buying.

The new coronavirus causing COVID-19 has led to more than 435,000 illnesses and more than 19,600 deaths worldwide. For comparison, in the U.S. alone, the flu (also called influenza) has caused an estimated 38 million illnesses, 390,000 hospitalizations and 23,000 deaths this season, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

If I hear anything else I will update southtex. I also have friends in Franklin Co so I understand the concern. I hope your mother comes out unscathed
I'm not sure if you heard but there is now a case in Franklin Co. We also now have a case in Jefferson Co . thanks to a truck driver who was traveling from Chicago to his home in Texas. I figure he had to be sick when he left Chicago to need hospitalization when he reached Mt Vernon.
