Heck ya! Love the double handles. So many different sizes too. Tough stuff for sure. These crates are pretty awesome for the money! I have over 100 pounds of ammo in one of the larger crates and I can pick it up without and signs of the ammo crate flexing or bending.
Are there any advantages to storing ammo in these versus a wooden crate?
Or .30 or .50 cans? Are there any advantages to storing ammo in these versus a wooden crate?
A wooden crate is not moisture proof as an ammo can or possibly these MTM Cases, I'll stick with my ammo cans now, however MTM makes quality products. Are there any advantages to storing ammo in these versus a wooden crate?
I don't stockpile ammo right now, but I'm going to look into a storage solution for the future. Thanks.A wooden crate is not moisture proof as an ammo can or possibly these MTM Cases, I'll stick with my ammo cans now, however MTM makes quality products.
There lighter, no sharp edges, dual handles, better rubber seal. And basically the same price as 30/50 cans.Or .30 or .50 cans?
Wood lets moisture in. Ammo cans/crates have lipped edges & a rubber seal to keep them closed tight & pretty much moisture free. Are there any advantages to storing ammo in these versus a wooden crate?
Great for the range too. Throw a couple desiccant bags in with whatever, & it'll basically be good forever. The 4 ammo box crate with carrier is another great product from MTM and it's especially useful in a bug out situation.
Maybe if I was just getting started...but considering how many ammo cans I have, doesn’t make sense to start over...
Also, they would get pretty heavy; 100# of ammo would be a bit much to lift at a time.
I agree, I had an older large range bag that I filled with ammunition during a move and had to use a hand dolly to move it. The movers couldn’t put in there truck so it went with me. Took two people to pick it up.Maybe if I was just getting started...but considering how many ammo cans I have, doesn’t make sense to start over...

I have a few 40mm Mk19 cans; I filled one of them, once, with .45...I think it was something like 3-4000 rounds.I agree, I had an older large range bag that I filled with ammunition during a move and had to use a hand dolly to move it.
