My Bad Luck

Hi,

We've replaced just about everything else in this house since buying it three years ago, a/c, dishwasher, stove, refrigerator. I suppose the water heater is next.

We had both our vehicles in the shop this week for scheduled maintenance, to the tune of $1800.

It is said that money talks. It must be true because mine always says, "Goodbye!"

Replaced the water heater at our Mesa home before the sale. It was on a pedestal maybe two foot high and no, it wouldn't drain. I backed the pickup to within about two feet and had to lift the dang thing over to it. Not something I wanted to do with a bad back. The weird thing was the pressure drain line. The new one was in a different location and the drain line went through the wall. It took some creativity to get it hooked up.

Wife got home from work and I went out to the garage to help unload groceries and my water heater was leaking from the bottom. Tank just went out of warranty. Called my plumber and he was here within the hour with a new water and expansion tank. Just left a few minutes ago and said they will send me the bill. I'm sure i'm looking at least $900. A great way to start the weekend. Could have been worse it could have happened after hours.

yeah, i know that pain all too well.

the last pair i bought yes, pair, cost me $1,200 each (parts/labor) from Home Depot, with extended warranty. the plumber is that stores #1 plumber, and it shows...beautiful installation, hell he was related to the original plumber and learnt from him.

my "go to" plumber

i got 2- Rheem gas water heaters.

yup for some reason it tries to run 180 degrees away
we had a fridge water line LEAK... no water in the house, it somehow found a way into the garage at least 10 feet from the fridge on other side...
very lucky you noticed it before the OOOMMMPF spray of water

And this is why I'm a pack rat and save everything of value and some things that isn't. Another 50 mile drive to the hardware store OR I know I got something that will work around here somewhere. FYI old keys make fine washers, just drill the right size hole. They even have a little tail to make them stand out from the run of the mill washer :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
