Ah Aruba, my all time favorite locale for scuba diving. Both sides of the island are beautiful in their own right. At least from what I remember from back about 1966-68. I know a lot of commercialization has taken place since I was there, but when I was it was a quiet, peaceful, slow paced island of the Dutch Antilles. We were the first American Naval ship to tie up there in some number of years and were welcomed with open arms. We were invited into the homes of so many locals, had dinners prepared for us, was introduced to many of their daughters (young, single daughters) ..... oh yeh, and the scuba diving was great too!!! I've told my wife of 55 years that if ever I wanted to live somewhere other than the good ol' USofA, it would definitely be Aruba.
