Need help with Girsan MC P35 mag disconnect + sights

Just bought my first/last Girsan. Fit/finish exceptional. Balance + ergos are great. So far shoots FMJ, CCN, CFN + JHPs in 115, 125 + 147 gr without a single failure. Now it goes downhill. Hate the mag safety + fact mags (mag as in singular) won't drop. Hate the sights even more, looks like a white picket fence. And who wouldn't hate a 9.2 lb gritty trigger on a SA pistol designed by Moses himself.

Anyway, here's my problem now. Tryin to remove the mag disconnect, knocked the pin outta the trigger + pulled forward that vertical leg on the trigger bar + disconnector should fly out, not this one. Is there something different than the Hi Power? Also, will Hi Power front sight blade fit this Turkey (pun intended)?

It sure is purdy, but support/parts/service is the pits! Almost matches my Kimber.

The MCP35 is a Mk.III clone so things should go normally as any effort to remove the mag safety in an original BHP.

Have you contacted EAA?

Call BHSS for advice since they are familiar with the Girsan. 1-877-423-BHSS (2477)

The sights are the sights and can be replaced. BHSS can do that also.

I removed the mag disconnect from my Girsan MC P35 and had the same problem. It is different from the Browning Hi Power. I had to also remove the "trigger pin" as well. Then moved the trigger down a little bit until the disconnect flew out, but that vertical leg popped out too! It was a big pain in the butt to get it back in but I managed to do it. It was well worth the effort. Magazine falls freely and trigger is now about 6 to 6 1/2 pounds. Smooth as silk. I love this gun so much I purchased another one, The Girsan MC P35 "SELECT 1". You should check it out, it's gloss black with gold hammer, trigger etc. And by the way, the Girsan MC P35 "Match" MC P35 "Ops" come without the disconnect but cost a little more. Shoot straight, Stay safe.
