New Gun Day! Well, Yesterday šŸ˜‚!

Lab Us

Master Class
So last Thursday I ordered a 4.25ā€ Emissary AOS .45 from Tombstone Tactical. Arrived at LGS yesterday and picked it up yesterday afternoon. Didnā€™t want to disrespect everyone by displaying a gun that needed in cleaning (in my world, all new guns need cleaning, I shoot nothing out of the box - blame in on lots of 1911s over the years).

Broke out the cleaning stuff this am and went to work. For anyone that thinks a new gun doesnā€™t need to be cleaned - check thisā€¦

Finally got all the ā€œclean gunā€ gunk off that would likely interfere with a tight fitting 1911 (or so lots of experience tells me).

Lubed everything up and reassembled and sheā€™ll be going to the range Thursday morning after a couple days of slide locked to rear and magazines fully loaded (thereā€™s than dang fangled experience rearing itā€™s head again).

Donā€™t plan on mounting my Holosun 507C-gr-Vulcan until after a few hundred rounds to mesh the parts together.

Hereā€™s a reassembled picture. Iā€™ll take more at the range Thursday, but technically itā€™s just a cerakoted black 1911 šŸ˜ƒ. Barring any major malfunctions, round one will be 100 PMC 230g FMJ 830 fps, 50 AAC 230g FMJ 830 fps, and 50 Federal American Eagle 230g FMJ 890 fps. If all goes well, next week Iā€™ll experiment with some HST, however I doubt this will be a carry šŸ˜‚ā€¦40 oz unloaded šŸ˜‚. Well, I need my holster to come it too.
