Guidelines based on what science? At what point did we ever try to STOP the spread? What disease - since polio - have we EVER actually stopped?
How is his behavior any different than the (politically condoned) riots that are going on all around the country, as far as this virus is concerned? Why is HE getting criticized, but these rioters are not?

"Flatten the curve" was to SLOW the spread, not stop it. It was to keep hospitals from being overrun - which, by the way, worked. Hospital ships went unused. Javits Center went unused. Ventilators didn't run out. Bodies didn't pile up in the streets.
We succeeded in slowing the spread.
You simply canNOT "stop" a virus without a vaccine. Period. End of discussion. It's impossible.
Well...there is one other way - let the virus kill everyone. But with a 99.9% survival rate? That won't happen anytime soon. Yes, the virus is new - and that's why we're so over-focused on it. Compare stats - flu deaths. Car accidents. Cancer deaths. If ANY of those started from 0 last year, and went to the numbers they're at now? There would be panic. But...we're used to all of them and we just accept them. COVID is only "SO dangerous" because it's brand new. And as such, it can be used as a political tool.

. You have to get tested to stand in the same ROOM as our President. It will go, where it goes. Paper masks aren't worth squat. If you can smell a fart through it, you can catch COVID through it. Scent molecules are larger than virus molecules, and if THEY get through...why do you think COVID will be stopped?
And our President isn't "making light" of it. He knows it's real. What he said was, "don't let it run your life". We can beat this. We WILL beat this. He is being a leader, and inspiring the citizens of his nation. God forbid, someone be optimistic.

VERY public exposure on a regular basis.
Very little sleep.
3 days in hospital observation, taking standard preventative medications that ANY American can get. Mild headaches, and slight pulse OX drops here and there.
He's back on the job.
I'm sorry...but I fail to see the abject horror there. There are risk groups, yes...but this is not an all-around, 14-day death sentence. Let's get over it already and get back to having a life, and an economy, and a nation.
I suppose this will be my last post here, because I'm sure it'll get banned and I'll get booted. It's been fun. But like I said...I'm done with this total fear, and with not being able to run my company (live concert sound), and with the concept of locking down 100% of a population for the perceived (and scientifically unproven) safety of less than 1%.
Look at Sweden - they got it right.
