I could lie to you but I won't - Most of the time it is not a dry heat except in West Texas. July and August gets 100 degree temps but 125 is very unusual. When the temp reaches 122 in Phoenix, they have to close Sky Harbor Airport because the air is too thin to make a successful takeoff. In 35 years, I have never seen DFW closed for heat. Besides, that's why God invented the swimming pool that you can now afford.

Now in Houston, if the humidity falls below 50%, a Skycap smacks you in the face with a hot, steaming towel as you depart the shy bridge just so you don't think you landed at the wrong airport. Lived there for 2 years - stay clear of Houston.

Austin is better but you need to wear your shooting muffs all day long to drown out the shrieking, wine sipping, Xanex popping Karen's. Every place else in Texas is pleasant.
