Welcome from PA. I actually hope to move to Idaho some day. Looks absolutely beautiful.
As someone else mentioned, I am a bit surprise to here about the issues with the MP. I now 22LR can be picky in semiautos, but didn't expect that from the magnum. As mentioned, perhaps just a break in period. I would do some research, could be a common issue for that gun with a well known "fix."
I have no experience with the Saint but glad to hear you like it.
