Hi
@gordon, and welcome to the forum. I came across this article from "Pew Pew tactical" on 9mm Ammunition recommendations for both Defensive (carry), and target shooting. As some have mentioned, each gun has its own characteristics on what ammunition will fire without any problems, so what's on this list may or may not work for yours. Case in point, CCI Blazer Brass is on their list for target ammo, and it's worked well in all my 9mm handguns (others posters on here not as well), that I've used so far EXCEPT my Walther CCP M2 9mm. I did some internet searches and found that this was common with this firearm and ammo combination (in fact a poster provided a good and bad list of different ammo that worked/didn't work with this gun).
So this article's list is a start, and, if you can find any around for a price you want to pay, you should try them and see if they work in your gun. If you are considering carrying this gun for protection, you should also then try the defensive ammo listed, to make sure that ammo works with your gun (your life may depend on it if you do end up carrying it). It's more expensive than target ammo, but you'll need to fire several boxes to ensure it works in your gun, as all guns could be different (even the same model guns), when firing ammunition without problems. In this article, they also linked to more information (Lucky Gunner is linked and they do a good job with their testing), so take a look at those at well. Good luck with your search and happy shooting.
