New S&W 9mm announced next week??

Ever since the M&P 15-22 came out I've been wishing S&W would come out with a 9mm AR-15. I hope this will be that.

Could a polymer AR upper and lower withstand 9mm?

If it is I hope it takes either Colt pattern SMG or Glock mags. Knowing S&W it would take their pistol mags and I'll not buy.

But isn't it about time for a M&P 9 3.0? Maybe with a name instead??

A poly upper and lower WILL withstand 9mm...............also it'll withstand anything I've tried in an AR15 platform, but I've been trying to get poly receivers for AR10's. I've seen poly uppers, but not in lowers for AR10's. I have several thousands of rounds in my ATI's.

Anyone else hear about a new 9mm rifle sized S&W firearm called the Response to be announced next week? From what I heard, some gun stores already have them but they need to hold them until the official S&W announcement.
It may be just gossip and someone pulling my leg, but that’s what I heard (I can’t say where as I’m sworn to secrecy) 🤫
