New Saint ST916556BMLC Front Sight Post Marked Backwards?

20 years in military, always moved the fsp in the direction of the arrow marked (up) to move the impact of the round up.

Scratching my head last week, the more I rotated up, the more the round went down.

Manual directions and online photos all show these sights marked left/up (see pics 1-3), yet mine (see pic 4) is marked right/up, which when rotated right (counter clockwise) then rounds (hits/impacts) go lower?

Am I loosing it? Really thinking they farmed these out to a sub mfg and they blew it...

If the post goes down then the muzzle will go up. This doesn't matter on cw or ccw. Down is down. Are you trying to 0 at a specific distance that doesn't change?
 
his question does not seem to be about "how to zero" but if the arrow is pointed in the wrong direction on the front sight. And to that the answer is Yes, it is pointed the wrong direction.
 
Most everyone that uses AR iron sights know that turning the front sight post clockwise (moving the post down) will raise the POI, the arrow is supposed to point to the left, indicating a clockwise direction. Now if for some reason it does not, one only needs to look at the post as they move it, and go from there.

Yes, I actually read the arrow, it's just wrong. If it was dark or I didn't have my glasses on, I would have never looked at the markings and moved it the correct direction. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this sights...

Your arrow points to the left and that is correct. That means the near side you are looking at should go to the left and the far side to the right, which is a clockwise rotation. Clockwise should lower the post which should bring the barrel (point of impact) UP.

My arrow points to the right, 4th (last) pic, viewed from the rear. SA or their OEM apprears to have marked these wrong or non-standard...

Wow, was so happy Springfield had no problem sending me a new front sight, appeared they understood my problem. Unfortunately, sent me a sight with the same backwards arrow. It was flush upon receipt, as you can see in the pics, 1 full rotation applied, you can note the post definitely moved up, unfortunately this will moves the round down...

DUH! Sometimes ya just gotta stand back and shake your head in disbelief.
