New to The Armory Life

10mm & Wirenut,

Thanks for the warm welcome. If I had to say right now, I'm probably going to purchase the XD-M 4.5" version.

One thing that's bothersome about this shopping and fact finding process is the lack of specific descriptions of "What's in the box?" What's included when you buy this? And that's true for the manufacturer, box house, and broker sites, too.

Oh well, just part of learning I guess. It's making me hunt and peck all over so it's no all bad.

Best to ya both,

John

I have the original XDm 4.5 in 9mm, got mine back in 2009, never disappointed with it.

I don’t have the XDM, but if you look at the spec sheet on it from SA, looks like it comes with 2 - 13 round magazines. Since it also is capable of interchangeable back straps, I’d imagine it comes with a couple options of them as well.

Good luck shooting and welcome!!

USPatriot1960, You're making my point for me. I'd like to look at that spec sheet and NOT have to use my imagination. Even the XD-M owners manual lacks a description of what it comes with. And it even mentions a Cable Lock as being supplied. Nevertheless, thanks for going to the trouble of including the link.

When I bought my my XDM it came with 3 different size backstraps and 2 replacement fiber-optic rods, green and orange, and 2 mags.

They are awesome pistols for the range and OWB carry.

Hello everyone. I am new here. I just bought my first XDM and it is the elite 9mm FDE with 4.5" threaded barrel. Very fun fun to shoot, great control and easy to acquire target quickly.

So, JasonGalvan, how many rounds have you put through your XD-M by now? Do you use target rounds at an indoor range, or do you have access to a large property with a good dirt backstop?

John

I lived there off and on from '84 to '89 for automotive mechanics and body repair. Took a cdl class while there also when I turned 21 for class A.

Apologizing to the OP in advance for the hi-jack, but I evidently can't help myself from going off topic these days. My wife and I and some friends are taking a trip to Texas the week of July 4th. My wife used to live in Dallas and she has relatives and step parents down near Brownsville and on South Padre Island. We're looking to stop at The Alamo because I've only ever been to Texas once and it was a quick in and out to Lufkin and come on man, you don't go to Texas and not see The Alamo. I'm looking forward to it.
