Newly purchased saint victor ar15 is a DISASTER!!!!

Hello all, new here.
Just bought a brand new victor ar15 3 days ago. Super upset about this purchase, and haven't even been able to fire a round. Maybe its just me, but I can sure go for some advice or direction right now, so here's my current issues:

1. When holding the grip and the foregrip - it feels loose, there's a very small amount of wiggle/jiggle when holding with both hands. Is this normal?
2. Are QD mounts supposed to be on this gun? There is absolutely nowhere to mount a sling on here.
3. Does anyone know if SA even has a customer service department? Multiple emails have gone unanswered.
4. Also upset with SA for including a $200 apparel voucher in the box that can't be used.

I just feel that for $1200, with an included sling, that I should be able to hook it all up and start shooting.... so far I haven't been able to do anything with it.

Any answers or advice would be greatly appreciated. As for the wiggle on it - I'm thinking SA builds some pretty worthless firearms and that's the reason for complete lack of customer service.

Thanks everyone

First, lots of AR's will have a slight bit of slack between the upper and lower. some worse. i don't know how much you have but that should not stop you from shooting it.
Second Very few have QD mounts. just buy one and mount it on the hand rail. the stock should have one, although i am not familiar with the saint as i don't own one. don't e mail them, call them. they will answer.

The things you have listed have no bearing on firing the gun. a sling shouldn't keep you from shooting it. what is it that makes it un shootable and what needs hooking up?

Call them. Don’t email. Much faster response.

As to the sling setup, there’s a QD socket in the stock and end plate.

As to wiggle? The grip, just tighten it. Not sure if you’ll just need a common screwdriver or a hex (Allen) wrench.

If the rail is loose…that should be addressed by SA.

For what it’s worth: I get that it can be very frustrating to spend a lot of cash on a firearm that doesn’t seem right to you (been there)…but loudly bashing it on a forum, particularly the manufacturer’s forum, tends to get one dismissed as a troll.

There’s good people here who wil try and help you, but, again—for best results, call them.

A standard out of the box AR almost never comes with rail-mounted QD sling attachments. This is the norm. Some may come with built in QD on the receiver / stock depending on furniture. You can buy them from many manufacturers, they typically run $15-$20/ea. Magpul, BCM, Blue Force Gear, all sell good ones.

There will always be some play between upper and lower, they aren't hermetically sealed. If the grip is loose, just tighten it. It's just an allen wrench/key. And it's probably not loose, you just feel like it is because of the slight play between upper and lower receiver.

Call Springfield CS, always. Their email system is notoriously unreliable, but they always pick up the phone and their CS is top notch. But honestly based on your gripes, I don't know what you expect them to do. The rifle is probably fine. You can't tell if it has problems if you haven't even shot it yet. Your post reads more like a tantrum, and is likely to be interpreted as such and dismissed. Relax and go shoot the thing before you condemn it. A sling isn't required to shoot a rifle, so stop using that an excuse.

Well, one of the reasons I only ever bought one pre-assembled by some company AR. No matter what it comes with I am likely changing stuff so... And the one I bought didn't come with sights or sling mounts. And the furniture was the typical A2 BS. That was the first thing I changed. I think the Saint comes with B5 furniture, which is good stuff. As long as it's the type you want.

Me personally, and full disclosure I know zero about the Saint, to justify a $1200 price tag it would need to have a top shelf barrel, trigger and BCG. Even then I don't see me going for it. I assembled a Wilson Combat with tier one everything for about $1200. That included a B5 SopMod stock and the Wilson/B5 grip.

As for the play between the receivers, we would need to know how much play and if anything else is loose. It's hard to judge without seeing the movement or having it in my hands. I do know they sell little plugs that tighten it up. And some people ( Aero Precision I think and some others) sell lower receivers with some sort of adjustment screw. To be honest I never paid any attention to that on any of them.

My advice is to take the entire thing apart, teach yourself how it goes together, change the parts you don't like, add the parts you don't have ( Magpul QD mount is pretty cheap) and shoot the gun. Then never buy another off the shelf AR again unless it's a Noveske or something in that class.

I thought the Saints have an adjuster screw to tighten up the fit between the upper and lower.
They do, but I am betting the OP was so upset they did not read the manual.

As for the voucher promotions do not last forever. It depends on how long the Saint has been in inventory.

As for slings, did you inspect the rifle before finalizing the deal? That would have been the time to go over things like slings and other accessories.

Could you imagine the amount of bitching if he bought a Noveske? My lord. He thinks $1200 for a Saint Victor is high end. (That's not to minimize the money spent. $1200 is still a chunk of cash)

SA Saint ARs have a tension adjustment to remove the slack between the upper and lower receivers. It's up inside the pistol grip. Depending on wh
Which type pistol grip you have you may have to remove it to see the adjustment screw.

I adjusted my AR-10 once a few years ago and haven't touched it since.
