This evening I walk out into my front yard and see that one of my neighbors down the street already has their yard all lit up with Christmas decorations. WTF!

Halloween was yesterday, Thanksgiving is 4 weeks away and they're already pushing Christmas?!! I'm nowhere near ready for this crap.

That’s crazy. My whole life we decorate like the week before. Of course the stores have had decorations out since early September

The costco here had halloween stuff up in july and christmas stuff up in september. Home depot had all their christmas stuff up 2 weeks ago.
I was very upset that nobody had anything up for “10/22 day”.

They rush the season so early. If you needed something after Thanksgiving you won't be able to find anything, they will be sold out! Already xmas commercials on tv!

we never put up christmas stuff until at least after T-Day, like the week after.....

and it was always on the weekends when i'd be home.

We were going to put our tree up on Halloween, but since the weather was nice we decided to go out trick or treating (we have a 13 year old)
My wife starts listening to Christmas music on 10/25
The older I get, the more I am ok with starting Christmas early.
It is the most wonderful time of the year

I agree it’s is early but It’s been a rough few years for a lot of people. If it makes them happy and the kiddos like it, go for it.

I’m from the school of thought that the Christmas decorations don’t go up until AT LEAST the first week of December, and most definitely never before Rememberance Day/Veterans’ Day.

its on my street, but the next block over. I only noticed because it was dark and they have the entire yard lit up.
So I guess (hope) there isn't much chance of the contamination spreading any time too soon.
And yes, I'm old school and believe the "C" word shouldn't even be mentioned until after Thanksgiving.

But after months of constant election BS, I just ain't ready to face the Christmas onslaught.

When my mom died I inherited this album from her

and this Christmas Tree that either she or my Grandmother made.

On Thanksgiving night when we get home from the family feast we turn on the tree and listen to that album and that's the beginning of the Christmas season at our home.

On New Years day we listen again and the next day we put up the tree.
