NO! NO! NO!

Used to love putting up the tree and decorating outside but all the over hype before Halloween and Thanksgiving has slowly eroded that. Have not decorated outside in 10 years and not put up a tree on three since my wife got ill. Just no joy in it anymore. This is our year round tree and any presents go under it.

Never really was religious, so Christmas when the kids were little was more the commercial thing. Even went full on Clark Griswald with the houselights thing. But as the kids grew into their teens, we backed way off. Now that we are empty nesters, we don't bother with decorating at all. We still do the gift exchange thing but do all Christmas celebrating at relative's or friend's houses. And we like it that way.

well, totally skipping T-Day decorations...to rush christmas, and i can "see" Valentine's Day decorations and candy hearts going on sale December 26th.

then Easter stuff February 15th......

then 4th of July stuff going up for sale on Memorial Day weekend....

the cycles of early celebrations or skipping a holiday in favor of another is BS

it only bothers me in the sense that people are rushing life's little pleasure's.

i suppose procreation sex will be skipped in favor of going to a vending machine and choosing a baby and dropping a few quarters..???...i mean let's rush that too and get right to the fact people are being lead by dictators

this skipping BS only makes me wonder what else will be skipped..??

the US Constitution? elections??, maybe taking away free libraries??

i dunno......

SLOW THE "F"-ing HELL DOWN.....

Speaking of Christmas music, when the radio stations start playing that stuff starting after Thanksgiving it drives me nuts. I like classic rock and even that station starts doing it. I know there are alternatives, but I just like to hop in and turn the radio on. Is it too much to ask wait before about a week before Christmas? I also find it hard to believe this increases the number of listeners, but maybe I'm just an old curmudgeon.

i only listen to talk radio, and been doing so, since i retired years ago.

the only exception is Sunday's when early in the morning infomercials are playing, and THAT drives me bazoobies....

i have satellite radio, but i'll be damned to spend like $15.00 +tax+fees+whatever BS, they tack on monthly for a whopping $49.99.........

and no, my cars do not have CD players either....

1) I'm 70 years old, single, my kids are grown and no grand kids. To me Christmas is a major PITA! Its become nothing more than a commercialized greed fest. Crowds, traffic and insanity. 🤬
I'm half Grinch and half Scrooge. I'm a Grooge! 🤬
You have been fairly warned.
2) When I was a kid I loved the holidays, now not so much. I haven't been in the christmas spirit in years. I guess that's what happens as you get older. The other part is not having anymore family to celebrate it with.
3) Christmas became a bummer when i discovered Santa Claus wasn't real two years ago. :(
1) my wife and daughters do the shopping thing. i give gift cards, hardly any cash, and i get the gift cards like in August most years.

2) yes, when we were kids, and happy-go-lucky, with out a care in the world, all holidays were great.

3) you mean Santa isn't real..????

then who da hell's been stuck in my chimney the past 67 years.....???

Nope, i know cause two years ago i left him some milk and cookies and he didn't touch either of them. instead left a note saying cheapskate, try putting out some real cookies instead of the dollar store cheapies, and 2% milk, really? it look like i got this fat drinking 2%? i know the real Santa would have never said that.
i woulda told you to ******** OFF...!!!!

how dare you NOT gimme the good shite..!!

and i'll bet too, you didn't even place a brandy by the fireplace, huh..huh...huh...????

As a child I fondly remember the excitement of coming downstairs Christmas morning. My Mom decorated the tree in the locked front room and I did not see the tree until Christmas morning. It was magical. When I was a little older we went to church Christmas Eve and I got to open one gift when we got home. Such vivid fond memories 70 years later. Commercialization is so disappointing.
