generally speaking, (to me) doesn't look like too many times.

some would say "shoot the snot out of it"..

i'd say "preserve the finish and low round count, keep it stored away"....it'll garner more value come time to sell if you ever have to.

you will hate yourself should you accidently drop either of them, or scratch either one.

i noticed that as well, just did not mention it.

Those have always been on it, he got it from a retired cop i think back in the 60's don't think they are original as they are plastic. i don't know nothing about old revolvers though. fact is i know nothing about any kind of gun.

Very faint turn line in the cylinder, some wear scratches on the ejector rod.

Possibly unfired, but it's been played with a bit.

Not a knock on it; it’s a gorgeous piece. Stocks look unmarred, don’t see any freckling anywhere.

Pops was a stickler for maintenance protocol for everything he owned. I will give the same attention.

when i sold my S&W 6" 357, there were slight scratches on my grips (stocks), dealer told me buyers look for stuff like that and want the price reduced.

lesson i learned on my 1911's, i should applied to the revolver..

"put on generic grips, then go to sell, put back on originals"

i think that best...preserve what's there, take no chances on causing damages, that may never be corrected to perfection.

at least..not cheaply.
