Hi,
That was a general suggestion. I'm not aware of any specific issues. I was looking at PSA when shopping for my first AR. I wound up buying a Saint Victor. The SV pistol is 11.5" but is a little over $1K (MSRP).

Right To Bear has 5” 300BLK complete uppers with BCG and CH for under $300. Then build out or buy a lower and you’ve got a great, compact truck gun.

You can buy a really nice Ar pistol for 1000 bucks, but if yer just going to have it as a truck gun you might look at a cheaper model that will work.
I have several AR pistols but wouldn't put them under a seat to bounce around, now i do have a couple i would do that with. You might look at a Radical, now they are are not the best made but they work and and are pretty accurate for a cheaper rifle. there are others that fit this description too.
i gave 450 for my radical pistol but mine is 300 blackout. I did put different furniture on it just because it was all black and scared me and i put a binary trigger in it when they were on sale on black friday.
The pic is how i bought it except for the dot, Phase 5 ebr and Magpul forend grip. you may or may not want one on a truck gun. i wouldn't. just open sights for me. other pic is the furniture i put on it that i had already. Problem with a pistol is you cannot shoot one without hearing protection. they are really loud. but for an emergency situation it would be ok. do not put a stinkin muzzle brake on it either. your ears will thank you and everyone around you will too.

My uncle who was a Korean War veteran had a M1 Carbine under the back seat and a M1911A1 in the glove compartment. Both were USGI.
one can dream... maybe some day. maybe.
that is a sweet combo. i'd love to get my hands on an M1 carbine but they are banned "by name" in NJ.

It was the first center fired semi automatic rifle I ever fired. I loved it. The big gun shop sold cut down M1 Carbines. I think they were called “Enforcers” This one back in the late 60s.
