NRA Convention (Houston)

USMC1911

Master Class
SA always has a nice display. Convention didn’t have the turn out I was expecting. Hopefully next year will be better.

Great picture of the Springfield Armory booth thanks for sharing.
I can’t/won’t speak for anyone else but for me the NRA has lost a lot of credibility with the gun community because of the lack of accountability and misuse of money by WL I won’t have anything to do with them.

I truly understand how you feel. The last 3-4 years I have not been donating money like I use to. I enjoy the Convention cause I get to eye ball all the firearms that the different Manufactures put out. I also enjoy meeting people that have the same passion I have for 2nd Amendment. My wife enjoys the different locations the convention is held in. I belong to a Sportsman Club in New York and you have to be a NRA member to be a member of the club. In a anti-Gun State all you have is the NRA.

Until NRA gets rid of Wayne, i won't give them another dime. don't look like that's going to happen. guess they are blind and stupid to see he is costing them memberships.

Good pic of the booth, thanks for posting it.
He’s didn’t seem very friendly to me also. He always has that sour look on his face. I almost thought they was going to get rid of him when Oliver North was there. That’s when I realized how powerful he was in the organization when they got rid of North

With the huge anti-gun bill and new restrictions coming forth in Illinois, the NRA is MIA. I've not received one email about how they are fighting for us! ZILCH! A number of years ago I would have received multiple form letter emails to send to my representative or senator, this time around it's like we have been abandoned!

Because of all the BS with them I dropped them a few years back. Have not looked back
had i known about all the NRA problems before hand, i'd have not joined up for 5 years like i did....however, the club i belong to "demands" that all club members be an NRA member, i think they get a discount on insurance i was told..???...(so i;m stuck twixt a rock and hard place on membership to the NRA)

also, i cannot get to any convention(s), either they be for automotive, or trucking, or gun

Yes they seem to be very quite lately. Our New York Governor and Mayor are defying the Supreme Court ruling and we hear nothing from the NRA. I’m hoping they are fighting behind the scenes. The gun laws here have got worst since the ruling.
that angers me, as when many other states (eventually) get told by the courts, what they are doing is against the constitution and they MUST stop, they will try and follow NY's lead on all that they do.

Like all lobbyist Uncle Wayno wants your money to be used for his lifestyle and no longer remembers his purpose. Forgot, when there is an issue of some sort and the anti gunners want to legislate against everything from water pistols to tanks he (or an underling) will put out a hollow statement then take a trip. As with most groups who are going to help YOU they start with great intentions and then start to consume YOU. They really aren't the last line of defense that would be the ballot box. Obviously just my opinion and for those that are happy with the organization I take no issue with you and your support.

I renewed my membership in their Line of Duty program for first responders. The offer they said includes a range duffel bag as a token for a renewal. Needless to say nothing like advertised. The bag is so cheaply made it's an embarrassment in my opinion to even send out such garbage. I really think a box or two of ammo would literally fall right through it. I know it's free but I seriously think two plastic bags from the local grocery store will hold up better.

I am holding holding out hope that WLP is ousted in the near future. As a Life Member since I was 18 I refuse to give up on the only organization that has kept us from being disarmed.
Will not happen he stacked the board with a bunch of sycophants. Probably using our money to give them money under the table as well.
Seems to me the whole thing is corrupt now. I'm surprised that Ted Nugent who is so outspoken seems to also be in lock step with all of them.

I should also mention that while you may not always hear from the NRA, every major firearms lawsuit is backed by the NRA. With political pressure and legal counsel and funding.

If any of you believe the GOA or any of these other groups that have stepped up have the clout or cash to pressure any anti-gun politician or one on the fence you are living in a fantasy.

While I agree with you the optics of WLP is glaring. Most corporations would have ousted (resignation or retired) a corporate officer of his caliber to reserve the confidence of the people they serve.
