NRA Convention (Houston)

While I agree with you the optics of WLP is glaring. Most corporations would have ousted (resignation or retired) a corporate officer of his caliber to reserve the confidence of the people they serve.
WLP has to go & I tell that to them when I get calls.

I'm sticking with the outfit in principal since it has the most clout albeit with WLP being a boat anchor on the organization.

I should also mention that while you may not always hear from the NRA, every major firearms lawsuit is backed by the NRA. With political pressure and legal counsel and funding.

If any of you believe the GOA or any of these other groups that have stepped up have the clout or cash to pressure any anti-gun politician or one on the fence you are living in a fantasy.
Their is financial support but I am naive enough to believe the pro gun votes would always be pro gun even without the NRA influence. It doesn't happen often but occasionally they will vote their true beliefs. And I agree their name is on every large suit but cynical me also realizes this helps with funding. Barnum would have not sold a ticket if he could not convince you that the world's greatest show awaited inside :D . Just think it all started trying to improve marksmanship

I do the same, voice my opinion on WLP.
They offered me a great discount on a lifetime membership a few years ago, I told them then I'd love to give them full price for a lifetime membership, as soon as WLP was gone. I'd hold up my end of the deal and give them money like I had in the past. Until that happens I'm a one year membership at a time kind of guy.
Getting back to the original reason for this thread. If the NRA gets close enough to me I'll go to it, I've always wanted to but the cost of plane tickets, hotel, car rental and entry is far too much for my meager budget.
