Off To The Doctor Today

Well, took off the bandages this morning and was able to take a shower! 3 small holes-don't look bad at all. Its a little stiff but other than that so far its been a breeze. Didn't take any pain pills at all. Doctor wasn't to happy about that but I didn't even need a tylenol. Put bandaids on and maybe a run this afternoon?

the doctor wasn't too happy about you NOT taking your meds, cuz now you won't need a refill, and his stock in the pill company will plummet.....

How are both of you guys doing?
Going today to have the original bandage removed 😵‍💫🫣🤦‍♂️😬
After seeing the incision I’ll let you know if I have an appetite for dinner. 🤢

In all honesty the last couple of days I’ve felt pretty good, not much pain but itchy as heck. Nothing worse then having an itch you can’t scratch.

I will say sleeping in the recliner has gotten old real fast.

yeah, my bro-in-law had rotator cuff surgery done, about 2 months ago, and for several weeks, the recliner was his bed.

not very comfortable for anything more that watching tv, or taking a nap.

Ok so XRay’s were taken so I got to see the shoulder hardware installed, sort of cool, “sort of” and the incision is not to bad, healing well.

I can start getting it wet in the shower.

Final update………

So tomorrow it will be 6 weeks from my shoulder surgery and following a visit today with the orthopedic specialist at the surgeons office I no longer have to wear my arm sling and if I want I can try sleeping in my bed and get out of the recliner.
More X-Rays were taken today to confirm proper hardware alignment and this time I took screenshots of the computer when I was shown the pictures of my shoulder.
The following pictures are graphic and parental guidance is recommended. 😂

The first picture is before the surgery showing how the ball at the top of my upper arm bone is no longer in contact with the cup, that is because my Rotator Cuff Tendon has completely torn away.
What it doesn’t show is the extensive arthritis that had started to destroy the ball where it should have been in the cup.

The next picture is after surgery showing installed hardware, the ball is now attached to the area of the shoulder blade and the cup is now on the upper arm bone.

Although this part is over I was told today that for the next 2 years I’ll need to take antibiotics before I have any dental work done to avoid bone infections.
That’s it guys/gals thanks for letting me share and vent. 😊😎

That's great brother. I'm glad you're healing up nicely.
