testtest

Official: Dodge, Jeep, and Ram Are Done...

here at the LAKE FORK OMG bass classic that was sponsored by toyota, they used to build huge test drive areas for folks to take a run... i understand why some are pulling out of shows. the guys on the ground running the event, hated the set up , dumb people and tear-down of the hills, and logs and crap

big exspense, when the consumer now days searches the web, finds the one he or she wants no matter the location and does it all online ..

A neighbor bought a brand new top of the line Dodge Ram truck out of state last year. In a matter of weeks it developed an issue that neither the local dealer or the original out of state dealer can figure out. Nor can the factory engineers. Several trips from AZ to CA trying to fix it with the truck in the shop(s). No loaner.

Randomly on turning corners, the engine would die. He finally hired a lawyer to lemon law the truck. That's been going on for months now with the new Ram sitting outside in the driveway. In the mean time he bought a new GMC truck.
No worries, now the strike is over, many more will be joining you⁉️

I'm not worried at all. We bought a brand new GMC Denali 4x4 crew cab in '22. Nicest GM truck we've ever owned. And we've owned nothing but Chevy Silverado LTZ crew cabs. No comparison between Denali and Silverado.

It's the fool neighbor who thought he could save a few dollars and buy a Dodge truck out of the state. He's out a lot of money that he'll never recover. At least he wised up and bought a GMC crew cab. (y)

None of the big 3 are airing super bowl commercials either. Big deal.
On my 4th RAM since 06 (06, 08, 15 and 23).
Great trucks. I’ll take a Hemi over smaller V6 turbos, etc.
To each their own.
I’ll take the interior of my Limited to a Platinum or Denali any day of the week.
4 corner air ride has the best ride of any of them. Living in Metro Detroit, family and friends working at all 3 brands, at production level, engineering, and sales level.

Ram Truck’s Ram box storage, multifunction tail gate and air ride are innovative and useful instead of gimmicky.

i know, i worked at 1 and only 1 Firestone store, and much like Sears and KMart auto centers, anyone remember those.??

they didn't have mechanics, but parts changers, working on commission sales....

Incorrect.
I worked for Kmart Auto Centers from 1993 to 2002. In 1998 they were bought out by Roger Penske and became Penske Auto Centers.
I worked at the corporate office from late 98 to the end in 2002 when they folded due to the KMart Bankruptcy (Kmart was our “bank”..). They held our sales instead of paying it back to us in a timely manner. The auto centers were financial losers anyways, it was the straw that broke their back.

Never, ever in those 9 years were they commission based.

I can’t speak for Sears or Firestone. But I can speak for Kmart/Penske.
I will agree for the most part they were parts changers.
In Metro Detroit, there was one store with proper diagnostic equipment and a couple top notch techs who knew how to do proper diagnosis.

But I got news for ya.. dealerships are have the latest tools available and often “guess” repairs as well, today… in 2024.
