Oh for a long gun

My favorite period in history, in all of history, is the 18th century and 19th century in the US. In particular, anything to do with woodsmen or fur trappers.
The rifle is among our most important inventions sharing its roots with the German Jäger and the various flintlocks of Europe.
That said, the Pennsylvania/Kentucky/Ohio rifle is strictly an American invention and is iconic to our militia and our history.

I am DYING to get my hands on an authentic replica (ideally a kit to build). I have a traditions pattern but it's not quite the same.

Any ideas on where I can go to get a replica or replica kit?

Pederosoli makes the best commercial blackpowder rifles, pistols, shotguns and also kits of the aforementioned.
For specialized kits I would go to http://therifleshoppe.com/ The Rifle Shoppe has an enormous selection of kits available. You will have to wait though, they also have a decent backlog of orders. They are considered to be the best source for Baker Rifle kits.

I would urge you to go to Track of the Wolf and get their books on building a rifle.
