Well, I don't know .... but after re-thinking it maybe it's closer to the middle since the number is M46xxx. But that's probably as close as we'll get without writing to S&W. And again, thanks for the info.
According to the Standard Catalog, S/N 30001-60000 were produced 71-73, 60001+ began in ‘73…exactly when the #s changed is a bit fuzzy…But, yeah, early ‘72 is a very safe bet.
Either way, congrats on that pickup. That’s a really nice piece, and it should be shot.
