old Swingline 800 tacker

I tried that several times before contacting this site but it doesn't move. I thought there may have been some combination of things to push.
make sure the large handle is all the way down, (at rest), then try moving that lever backwards, it may be spring loaded, but that's what allows the staple storage area to drop down. (actually makes NO difference where that large handle is, but try it)

if not, spray some Blaster lube into that lever's pivots points, it might be frozen (or use some other lube..NOT WD-40..!!!)

you got the same stapler as me, that's how it's done.

I have found that this old model was Heavy Duty back in the day.

Today there are several other models manufactured with unique staple widths liley to drive refill revenue.

No fear, no worry, I found the width is the same as a standard desk top staples packs.

May not be Heavy Duty but it works in none Construction applications.
Old_Me. am I understanding you just need more staples to fit your #800 stapler? If that's the question ... go to the link I'm providing. The box on that page is the exact same box I'm using right now. If I'm misunderstanding, just disregard me. jj

ok, so here's what i have, an old Swingline #800 Heavy Duty Tacker (stapler)

exactly like this one

s-l1600.jpg

i'll be in need of different sized staples for it.

this stapler is for general around the home use.

anyone have such an old Swingline tacker, and if so, were you able to buy replacement staples for it?

and where?

(i tried the local Lowes/Home Depot, they did not have them)

Standard desk top staples packs work just fine.

No need for Heavy Duty unless you are in Construction.

I bought a box at Trustworthy hardware store (but that’s been a few years ago. ). Mine are mostly used at the range to staple targets to backers.

I stopped using staples on targets years ago for various reasons. I started using spray adhesive 13 years ago and have not had to fool with malfunctioning, empty, or jammed staplers since. Not to mention bandaids for ripped fingers from protruding staples.
