Very interesting way of holding a pistol and cigar.

This was actually taught as a point shooting style until not very long ago (and still might be).

You basically use your index finger to point along the frame; idea was you aim by just pointing your finger. I know some troops that deployed from a local NG unit that were taught it in the mid 2000’s.

It’s also the shooting style Jack Ruby used to assassinate Oswald.

Its thinking about him putting the cigar to and from his mouth that really got me lol.

I actually had to shoot like that on several occasions with stitches over the knuckle of my index finger 5 years apart.

Snowblower accident?
Jack Ruby's trigger finger was bitten so badly in a fight that doctors amputated it. So he adopted an odd grip on the revolver.
Seems there are a lot of Jack Ruby enthusiasts here 😆
