Well look at you. The one guy I figured wouldn't have anything to suggest that was realistic for me manages to give me a suggestion I trust on a NV optic that I can afford. You know, as long as I pigtail faster per Hayes' orders.

Of course I will try to locate it somewhere other than Optics Planet because, well they're Optics Planet. I'm pretty sure I still have some M855 on backorder from them from 5 years ago that they never managed to come up with. lol

Just giving you honest feedback from experience. Our department has a box full of cheap NV gear that I could probably send you for free but the postage probably costs more than the stuff is worth.

That's a risk I'm probably willing to take. I'm not looking for "Spook" gear. Just want to watch coyotes at night and be able to see if it's humans or animals setting off various security "Devices" in the middle of the night.

I'd need about 7 of them and they aren't nearly as convenient as picking up an optic and looking out. And it's kinda hard to scan for and watch coyotes 100 yards away in real time with a game cam. Maybe if I had 40 of them all over the place and wanted to screw with connectivity or SD cards all the time.

Not sure they are still out there, but I send an ITT Gen 3 monocular in the 90s as a P.I. City of L.A. bought them for me as part of Vocational Rehab. Cost $1300 in 1996. Worked great for spying on wayward spouses.

Well from what I can see they run $1500 new and I can’t find any used ones.
