Outdoor Range vs Indoor Range?Which do you prefer?

Someone next to us rented the MG42.

the one and only accessible outdoor range for me (that is state owned and free) is about a 45 minute drive for me.

after over 40 years of truck driving, i simply cannot drive more than about 15 to 20 minutes nowadays, and no, i ain't gonna stop for a break, and start all over again. then repeat that process on the way home. all that and plus i have to drive on a 1 lane dirt road, to the final 1 mile that has ruts, which my body can no longer handle.

there are a "few" private clubs that have outdoor ranges, those are even further away, and are costly to join and have to be a sub-servient to thier whims while on probation, at MY AGE.

so i am basically just an indoor kinda guy.
 
Have access to both. The indoor in an old National Guard Armory indoor setup & is only about 4 miles away. Outdoor is about 10 miles east. The indoor has the advantage of being close & warmer in winter, but actually prefer the outdoor weather permitting due to being able to setup various targets/distances & much better light (sunlight).

Glad they enjoyed themselves and kudos to you for showing them Texas Hospitality. If you took them for BBQ and Cold Beer after you would have treated to the Texas Trifecta...Guns, BBQ, and Cold Beer ;)
