P320 - Interesting Testing Re: Uncommanded Firing Potential

Didn’t want this to get buried at the end of one of the existing P320 threads where folks may not find it. Over on GlockTalk an armorer/instructor posted about some testing on their departments P320s - not good. If interested, you can find here, I think post 383 forward. They are soon testing a neighboring departments P320s.

This guy was a P320 proponent until they did this testing at his department.

Was going to reply to a post that was here concerning poster in my message above and his credibility; post that was here seems to be removed. Here is that GlockTalk poster’s profile, along with his currently operational website, where he provides some customization services to polymer framed pistols.

i dunno..i have a P-320, with the Wilson frame, and i love it.

of course, it is a range gun, not a carry

i too had a video of the connector where an expert smith(?) showed the problem of the earlier models and the correction.

I had an early model X-Carry, though never carried (too big for me to carry), and a couple X-Compacts. Never had trouble with them, but never carried them either. But I prefer to err on the side of caution and saw enough to tell “me” perhaps I should go with something a little safer. So no more P320s for me. They kind of sucked as range shooters anyway and have been gone just about 2 years.

SS P320 X-Carry - 19 Mar 19 - 18 Apr 23 - 742 rounds
SS P320 X-Compact - 9 Apr 19 - 18 Apr 23 - 885 rounds
SS P320 X-Compact - 15 Apr 19 - 18 Apr 23 - 790 rounds

Yep, those manual safeties do wonders. Likely why the DoD will keep using them and the M18.
Problem is from talking to the CATM folks (CATm is the USAF firearms instructors and armorers)
The M1&’s has a slew of issues from not going into battery when loading to large amount of parts breakage

Good luck to them but glad I am not mandated to carry brand X anymore. And when the major national trainers say they are junk probably something to it
