Pepper Spray for Self Defense

I have found that pepper spray can have the effect of rejuvenating confidence on people that don’t or can‘T carry a firearm. We have several widows in our church that were afraid of being alone or even going for walks alone. As part of our Church Security (which we called Church Safety) I had done some investigation into pepper sprays for these individuals. I purchased 9 Kimber Pepper Blastars, trained the individuals on their use, and encouraged these people to carry them. I got several comments about how much safer they felt, and that it opened up their activity because they no longer felt afraid. It was gratifying to see the confidence come back. I highly recommend the Kimber Pepper Blaster as An excellent tool to carry. Thanks for sharing the article.
 
I carry pepper spray in my car (along with my firearm). The reason being is for the situation where someone gets out of their car during a road rage incident and starts acting irrational, but not to the point of being a threat to my life. Maybe they start kicking tires or punching the hood of my car. Pulling out a gun in this type of situation dose not bode well for the law abiding firearm owner. I’ve read enough articles where a person was acting irrationally in a road rage incident, but technically wasn’t posing a threat to the other person. The other person drew their firearm and ended up with a felony charge because their life wasn’t technically in danger. For these types of situations, I’ll pull out pepper spray and hopefully it will resolve the situation. If the matter does escalate, I’m always carrying. Pepper spray is great for these situations where you want to try and avoid going from 0 to 100. Obviously, if you truly feel your life is in danger from the beginning, that’s what your firearm is for.
 
I carry it, particularly when I’m getting exercise walking riding my bike; it’s a lot better option for dealing with dogs.

It’s also good to have options when dealing with other potential threats; as a couple of cases in Florida have shown us, shooting an unarmed antagonist does not always work out well for the shooter.
 
Bear Spray
Shoots 30 feet and really will put a person down. It has a higher concentration of the pepper solution .
Nasty stuff
Carried it while hiking in the remote western parks.
Tried it out one day on a tree. Left a thick solution about 24” + in diameter on the tree and surrounding vegetation.
Drawback is it is in a larger container
