Phones? landline and cell

Whatever you do don't use Boost. We had Sprint, who was bought by Boost. My bank began refusing direct payments to Boost because of their utter lack of security protocols and the fact that they are scammed so much. We were told by our bank that we would either need to prepay our phone bill or switch carriers otherwise every month when our bill was due we would have to wait until Boost tried to deduct payment from our account and was refused, then call the bank and authorize the payment. Then when we switched to T-Mobile ( who gives you a free hotspot by the way) Boost tried to hi-jack 2 of our phones, both of which were bought unlocked. Speaking of which, if you go with Boost they will very likely refuse to unlock your phone for 1 year if you try to switch carriers. And you, like my wife, will have to make 6 phone calls to guys in India who you can't understand to finally get one that can actually look at your account and see that YOU never changed plans, Boost took over your carrier and you have had the same carrier for 10 years before they will unlock your GD phone.

Out here on the ranch we have had ATT for many years for cell and landline. Our internet and TV is satellite as there is no cable. TV reception and internet of course don't work when it is raining. It got to the point where every time it rained our landlines went out and sometimes the lines would call 911 on their own. Dealing with their customer service on the issue is maddening. I have written letters to the CEO of ATT and got some sympathetic noises but the problems recurred. We finally asked the Sheriff to intervene and things improved with the phantom 911 calls. For cell service, 20 years ago with analog our cell phones worked fine. Then they started "improving" things and our cell service deteriorated to a point where we had to go outside and find a sweet spot in the yard in order to use the phone. We dropped ATT cell service which we had for 30 years and switched to Verizon. Things got a little better but still not entirely reliable. We are told that ATT is investing in 5G and not maintaining the older systems. The promise to give rural areas better access to broadband has been long on promise and short on broadband.

Sounds like Hitler! Making promises?

Friday afternoon is was back, but with still problems staying connected. Yesterday I would look at the reception bars while staying in 1 place and the bars would go up and down. I thought it was Kitt from Night Rider? I'll see how today goes?

There are WiFi enhancers out there. Have seen kits and plans to build them too. Saw some enhancers browsing WEB and likely YouTube as well. Simple parts, some simple soldering required. Never had a need for one yet, but may help you?

Internet is a different company that gets bounced from 2 or 3 towers 100+ miles away from here. No problems with it! Most of the cell phones my family have can be wifi enabled, but can't call places locally. We can call each other in the same house :ROFLMAO: ;).

AT&T is back at it again! No cell or land line! Cash only in town is the new rave? Electronic equipment isn't stupid only the 1 who programs it! They must be wiping back to front :poop: πŸ₯΄!
If available, could try pay as you go phone even as a temp? Worse case scenario, toss or set aside for later? I have in the past. Total wireless around here is best. A biggie is to check for available signal areas. Total Wireless CS leaves something to be desired at times though. But, for most part no nagging issues once sorted out.

Samsung or other good brand name $35 -$50 starter phone, $25. -$35 month for service. No contract. Can transfer current number and sometimes current phone as well. Refill cards are available in many places like chain stores, Dollar General, pharmacies, Walmart, Target, ect. Uses Verizon as service signal here. Generally better coverage than AT&T. Have never trusted AT&T from past experience. Generally, one hand doesn't know what others doing....Good luck.
