Good luck, I hope it's better than my MK IV 22/45. I bought it brand new about 5 months ago and it worked okay but the more I shoot it the more problems I have. I probably have a couple thousand rounds through it now. No matter how good I clean and lube the ftf, fte, and stovepipes increase more and more. I have 6 Ruger magazines for it and out of 60 rounds I'm having a minimum ov 20 failures. I've tried several different types of ammo, when it was new it ran anything but now nothing works. I'll be sending it back to Ruger soon.

Wow, hate to hear that. That is weird it is happening after you have, what we would consider “broken it in” really weird. If you would, please let me/us know what Ruger says.

Hey, Happy Birthday BandBang & nice gift. I have 2 Mark IV's, the Target and Competition models. I bought them when the Mark IV just came out and they were recalled due to being able to fire when the safty was engaged. Ruger customer support was great. They told me what I need it do to get it back to them (if I recall, they only wanted the lower receivers), and the turn around was extremely quick. They even threw in two mags (one each), for the 2 mark IV's that I sent them. I'm sure yours no longer has that issue, so good luck with it and happy shooting.
