Picked up a Springfield Armory XDM 40 cal today

I had one of these about 8 years ago before moving to Hawaii and sold it prior to the move. I regretted that sale so I have been kind of hoping one would pop up used somewhere and today was the day. I went into the local Sportsman's Warehouse and this was in there for $469 with the original caseand 3 - 16 round mags. It had the Vortex Venom and a Crimson Trace grip laser on it that were included. I really don't care much for them and I took off the Crimson Trace and will probably get rid of the Vortex as well, but it did not have the original rear iron sight, so until I get a replacement it can stay. I will probably get a set of Trijicon irons. I have six extra magazines from the previous XDM that I owned, so nine - 16 rounds ought to hold me. I could potentially carry this pistol with 145 rounds; definitely ready for the **** to hit the rotating wind maker.

Nice find. I'm very fond of the .40 S&W and still what I carry on and off duty.

.40 S&W is also a favorite of mine. I reload it and shoot it a lot. I also have an H&K P30L, and H&K USP and a SA XD all in 40. My Son has the USP so I am not likely to get it back and I may sell the XD although it would bring so little that it's probably better to keep it.

It's not perfect, but pretty good. I will clean it and take it to the range to check it out soon. I figured with the two sights it was a pretty good buy and I already had 6 extra magazines for it. It was less expensive than the ones on Gun Broker.
