I am looking for a site that sells damaged/broken pistols or stripped pistol frames. Specifically 3rd gen S&W pistols. Is there such a thing? I have kind of gotten the bug to make a project of one.
Did you check Numich Arms parts company if there still in business?I am looking for a site that sells damaged/broken pistols or stripped pistol frames. Specifically 3rd gen S&W pistols. Is there such a thing? I have kind of gotten the bug to make a project of one.
Numrich is still in business. I buy stuff from them all the time.Did you check Numich Arms parts company if there still in business?
I should note that the top half of those guns were OK.My department adopted the S&W Model 669 9mm in the early 80's. We had a robust training program and shot them a lot. About a year in, during annual inspection, some of the frames started showing up with cracks. S&W acknowledged the problem but at first tried to say the ÷P ammo was causing it. We called BS because we were shooting less than 100 rounds of +P per year, and ISP did not have the problem. It was a metalurgy problem. S&W relented and replaced our guns with 6906's and the problem went away. I for one would want nothing to do with those cracked frames, I would be surprised if they were not destroyed.
Yeah. I'm aware of the possible costs. However, like you I'm hoping to make something coolio. For what you'll end up spending on this DIY project, you'd probably be able to buy two complete guns.
I've done such projects a couple of times, but I was making something special and it was worth it.
I am curious about your planned project, it sounds interestingYeah. I'm aware of the possible costs. However, like you I'm hoping to make something coolio.
Smith never made a 6906 TSW. I have a stainless 6906 slide. I have a rail mount that matches the curvature of the frame and would fit similarly to a TSW rail.I am curious about your planned project, it sounds interesting
