Pizza tip sets off delivery person

we dont have any that deliver food

Mumble years ago , one place would meet us 3 miles down the road at the edge of their radius .

Back in the day when I did deliver pizza:

The delivery fee did go to driver when settling up at end of the night . But the delivery fees by themselves didn't cover my gas .

depending on which pizza place i call, that "delivery fee" can be as low as $2.00 and up to $5.00

to me, its all BULLSHITE to charge that fee...

just raise the damned price of the pizza, people WANT thier pizza and WILL BUY IT from thier favorite place.

in fact, many had to say on thier website, the delivery fee DOES NOT go to the driver

Because the people who pick up , or eat there don't want to pay $5 more each pizza.

With 4 kids we lived for 8 years not far from a Pizza Hut Delivers. They had installed a computerized ordering system. Every birthday, or on must weekends, when we got company, or any other special occasion we ordered pizza. They knew just how we liked our pizzas. On the day we moved to another house outside their delivery zone, we ordered one final round of pizzas. I told the dispatcher we were moving and asked if they could look up on their computer how many pizzas we had ordered over the years. When the delivery came, the owner came with and told us we had ordered 345 pizzas, thanks for your business. I think I saw a tear well up in his eye as he looked at our U Haul truck.

Fortunately for me, there's a good pizza place only 5 minutes from my house. Plus they have a drive up window for pick-up. I order, wait about 20 minutes and pick it up. Nice and hot, straight out of the oven. Don't even have to get outta the car.
