Plain base mags cost more?

So I have a question: 1911 9mm full size : Springfield has both plain base magazines and slam base magazines. Why do the plain base ones list for $6.99 more than the slam base ones? 37.00 vs 43.99

Wilson or Chip McCormick. Springfield mags are MecGar I believe. They're ok. Mec Gar makes mags for a lot of companies. Kimber, etc..

No, that's not it. Both Blued and Stainless are listed at $43.99 while the slam base is $37.99 in blue or stainless.

I am wondering if it's maybe different suppliers for one over the other. I like a plain base in the pistol with a slam base as a spare reload.
