Folks have never been safe. Never.
Teach children to always be on look out. Even that is not enough.

The little girl outside of Houston this week is the prime example

I work specifically with individuals convicted of sex crimes. Statically it's very low that the victim is a stranger. With my current caseload it's about 7.5%. The victim is almost always known to the bad guy.

With that being said, my 12 year old is rarely out of sight (and practically arms reach) of myself and my wife. My 20 year old always carries pepper spray, a taser and a pocket knife. We will be going to get her a conceal carry gun the day after she turns 21

right, armed victim defends themselves, and kills the perp....judge, jury, executioner......why not just call the cops and go to trail then..???

you know, preserve and protect the criminals civil rights and such, rather than to shoot them..???

many of you here in this thread are pretty much saying.......what they'd do to a perp like that......

what...no trial by jury..????

I'd like to follow up on my comment about convicted sex offenders

Another huge thing to consider about them is the danger of the internet.

When I figured out my percentage, I failed to factor in meet ups set up online. I have or know several individuals (supervised by others) that made arrangements to meet up with minors online. Please, please be careful with your kid's online activity. And just not daughters.

Statistically, men who have young boys as victims are the most likely to reoffenders. Please warn your sons about Uncle Johnny and the nice man down the road who helps him fix his bike or takes him for rides on the 4 wheeler

Also, check the public Megan's Law site to cheek out your neighborhood.

The info coming out about Ibarro is unsettling and aggravating. Illegally passed into TX in ‘22. Was let out due to overcrowding. Went to NY. Was arrested there for hurting a minor and driving without a license. Was let go and ended up in GA. His brother, also here illegally, presented a fake green card when police went to his home. Turns out his brother was arrested 3 times, including DUI, shoplifting and i think assault. What the hell are we doing here? I said it before and i’ll say it again, we are done for.

In my experience rehabilitation of sex offenders is highly unlikely. Prison terms need to be harsh and certain, especially where children are involved. Just lock them up and throw away the key, and if they are released, watch them like a hawk.
 
What happened to the buddy system, and carrying some sort of defensive weapon?

If you are suggesting police should summarily execute offenders, that logic flies in the face of everything we should hold dear. I suggested above that a VICTIM who uses a firearm to defend themselves from a violent attack is entitled to do so under our system of laws, a far cry from an execution by police.

execution by way of shooting the suspect, in thier own self defense or protecting a victim.
