Poker Defense

A poker game is a good metaphor for personal defense. You can win with luck alone, but having a plan and being prepared increases your odds significantly. But in both contexts, the people who know the rules of the game and have done at least some modicum of preparation are far more likely to succeed.

Oh, I get what you mean about preparation and strategy. It reminds me of this time I played spider solitaire. At first, I thought it was all luck, just clicking cards around. But when I learned the rules and started planning my moves, I began winning more often. It's like with personal defense—you can rely on luck, but knowing the game gives you a real edge. Maybe for those who enjoy strategy games like that, exploring other card games or even board games could be a fun way to sharpen those skills further.
