Poly or steel

The PDP (Pro specifically) is the best striker fired I own or have owned.
I have never owned or shot a steel framed PDP, though.

What I do with my poly framed PDPs is put a brass Taylor freelance back strap on them. The added weight balances them out well. Additionally, I put a DPM captured recoil system - I'm not sure it lessens recoil - but it does smooth it out and "feels" better to me.

The article makes an interesting point about the steel framed PDP is overkill with the amount of material used to replicate the poly frame.

I have a Q5 Match SF and I have seriously thought about selling it from time to time, but it is just too beautiful and finding 9mm PPQs is getting harder and harder. That said I have not been a fan of the full-size metal Walthers. I don’t know if its just me, but I would rather wave around a hammer fired gun of that size. My 226 Legion or 226 X5 would put paid to any of the metal Walthers. That being said I have a couple of PDPs and like them a lot, but of course, as long as there is an equivalent number of VP9s in the stable the PDPs stay firmly rooted to the Fun Gun section of the safe. The VP9s are in the FAFO section.
