So I installed one on my xdm. I had heard of light primer strikes from this forum when using the PRP firing pin spring, so I didn’t install any of the slide parts just the frame parts. Made a big difference for me. I also kept all the original parts just in case I need to send pistol in, can drop those parts back prior to sending it to Springfield. If I ever need too. Doesn’t sound like a lot ever have to go in.
It eliminates nearly all the take up. I forgot my original pull weight, want to say at 5 pounds or so but what i didn’t like was the longer take up and mushy break. Now there is barely any take up and nice clean break.
Triggers pulls weights on a couple guns for comparison using Lyman digital scale:
New 1911 operator 4lbs 12 ounces
Range officer compact 4lbs 10 ounces
Xdm with PRP 4 pounds 6-8 ounces.
Now I just need a red dot adapter and red dot to install on it. It’s a very fun gun to shoot.
I did buy a PRP trigger kit for my xds mod 2 45 as well, but have not installed it. That gun gets carried so I haven’t fully committed to modifying the trigger or not. They are a lot cheaper for the xds than they are for the xd or xdm.
